We stayed at the downtown Sheraton in Denver for the first few days. It was right next to the 16th street mall so we just walked everywhere.

Favorite restaurants:
Rioja - fancy, $$$$, but cool and inventive. I want to try to recreate their lemon marscapone polenta and lemon tart with the cornmeal-pinenut crust.
Osteria Marco - Great (and reasonable!) thin-crust pizza with house-made sausage and rapini, Brushetta with fresh ricotta, prosciutto, and tomato balsamic jam
HBurger - fancy hamburgers and fries and best veggie burger to date- squash, carrot, beans, and egg - and crispy zucchini fries
Crepes 'N Crepes - Best crepes I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, made with homemade flour, and served with a french accent and a huge mug of hot chocolate.
The House of Commons - English-style tea room with a great tea selection
Corner Bakery Cafe - the equivalent of Panera bread, but the berry swiss almond oatmeal was wonderful - milk, yogurt, oatmeal, apples, cranberries, raisins, banana, and topped with strawberries & blueberries.

Favorite shops:
Common Era - cute clothes for $30-$40 each
Savory Spice Shop - an overwhelming selection and very helpful staff
