Rainy Day Felt Clutch

This felt clutch was my first project in Austin. I made up an improvised pattern based on a yellow purse I use all the time. For the flap, I appliqued the white felt cloud on top of gray felt using a zig-zag stitch on my machine, and reverse appliqued blue and green felt for the raindrops and grass. I outlined the raindrops, grass, and buttonhole by hand with embroidery thread.

Approximate project time: 2-3 hours for cutting and assembly,  2-3 hours for embellishment, 1 hour to finish. Total: ~2 half-days

Notes for next time:
I don't use clutches very much so I probably should have added a strap for practicality.
Stiffen the bottom of the bag with interface & more stitching before sewing the bag together.
